Building trips with a lasting impact, including on ourselves
A house offers more than just shelter: it is the foundation for your life, your future, and a safe home. We see and feel this during our building trips. Through HomePlan, we sponsor the construction of homes in Latin America and South Africa, and we actively help build them ourselves. We want to make an impact where every euro makes the biggest difference: for people living in extreme poverty.
The building trips have a lasting effect on us, too. They enrich us and make us more empathetic, grateful, and resilient. They broaden our understanding of others and keep us grounded. We apply that knowledge and experience to our projects back home.

Since Embera was founded in 2022, we have supported the HomePlan Foundation and sponsored housing projects in Latin America and South Africa. To date, we have completed four homes through our building trips. In 2023, we went on our first building trip to Guatemala. It was such a special experience that we also participated in 2024 (South Africa) and 2025 (Guatemala again), once more in partnership with HomePlan. And we are continuing our efforts: we will be going on building trips again in 2026 and 2027.
