A child centre that fits both the educational vision and the neighbourhood

In Dongen, the new Kindcentrum De Biezenkring is taking shape, with room for around 280 children from summer 2027. Embera handles the project management on behalf of Gemeente Dongen and the users: primary school De Biezenkring and childcare provider De Toverdoom.

Gemeente Dongen is the client for the new child centre, but the future users have a firm seat at the table. Every four weeks, the project group discusses progress and wishes. Accessibility for every child and alignment with the educational vision come first. Collaboration is one of the school's pillars; the multifunctional assembly hall and kitchen at the heart of the building make that possible.

The link between municipality and users

Embera bridges the gap between the municipality and the users and manages the entire project. We recalibrated the Program of Requirements and translated it into the design, developed a vision for the surroundings, handled the permit application and selected the contractors.

The municipality is the developer, but we stand up just as hard for the interests of the users. Everyone is working towards the same goal: the best building at the best price. By keeping that shared goal sharp and striking the right balance between cost control and quality of use, real collaboration emerges – and we get the most out of budget, schedule, process and quality.

From wishes to practical feasibility

The child centre will become a full part of the neighbourhood. The greenery in the area will be strengthened, and the schoolyard offers extra play space for local children too. While the school looks at the new building from an educational perspective, Embera brings the construction expertise. We explore every option and turn wishes into well-founded advice, so the users can make sound decisions.

Embera also supports communication with the team and the neighbourhood, for example with presentations at information evenings. That way, the school can focus fully on translating its educational vision into the new building.
