Aan de Molenwerf, comfortable living in the heart of a Zaan village

The Aan de Molenwerf apartment complex will be the eye-catcher of the revitalized center of Koog aan de Zaan. Embera is providing project management, from design through to the start of construction.

In Koog aan de Zaan, the municipality of Zaanstad is working on the development of the village center. Part of the center plan is the construction of the modern Aan de Molenwerf apartment complex, featuring 77 apartments and ground-floor amenities. Embera handled project management for SENS real estate and has been involved throughout the entire pre-construction phase. This includes everything from design and managing consultants, reviewing and preparing sketches and drawings for the permit application, to coordinating with utility companies and contracting the right builder.

"For us, it's essential that a project manager knows their stuff and brings calm. We want to be able to rely on them."

From the very first contact, there was an immediate connection between Embera and SENS real estate, says Abdel Salemi of SENS real estate. “I look for a project manager with whom I have a personal connection, who is professional and fits our company culture. What appeals to me most is the substantive knowledge and experience of the people at Embera. This allows them to have high-quality, substantive discussions that move the project forward. That is also the working style of Dennis, who managed the project for us. He works meticulously, brings a sense of calm, and acts in our best interest. For a developer, that is essential; you want to be able to rely on your project manager.”

Embera distinguishes itself through its approach: working with an eye for both the project and the people on the team. “Embera works with an open mind,” says Salemi. “Their project managers see what is happening at the table and how someone reacts to a situation. They pay close attention to that, act on it, and come up with a solution focused on both the people and the project.”
